Testimonials...
You have never seen so many shades & colors of
delphiniums in your life as in the gardens! And
the scones are to die for. Rudy, the golden lab is
the BEST welcoming tail-wagging in Alaska!
Thanks for ALL.
~Catherine & Jon, Portland, OR
After along day at the Palmer Fair, we were greeted very sweetly by
Valerie and her dog, Rudy! The beds were comfy, food great, the flowers
were beautiful, and my grandkids, Denali, 6, and Jayvon, 9, loved the
way they were welcomed by this new adventure of staying in a B&B! We
recommend the Cookie Jar Gardens. Thanks,
~Becky, Jayvon and Denali, Sterling, AK
Our stay at Cookie Jar Gardens B&B in Palmer, Alaska was the anchor for our fabulous week in Alaska. After our
travels and a visit to the Art Museum in Anchorage, it was a pleasant 40 minute drive to Palmer where we found
Cookie Jar Gardens B&B by the glorious flowers that surround the house and the scent of fresh baking cookies.
Valerie, our hostess, welcomed us and made us feel right at home with our comfy room, sitting area, fresh flowers,
treats, time in the gardens with her sweet dog, Rudy, the goldfish, and the glory of the flowers and magical towering
trees.
The next day we drove the spectacular route to Seward and spent our only night away from Cookie Jar where the
following day we drove the train tunnel at Portage Glacier to Whittier for our afternoon 26 Glacier Cruise. After
dinner we drove 3 1/2 hours back to Palmer for a good night's sleep. We rested in the gardens at Cookie Jar most of
the following day and then drove only 25 minutes along the Little Susitna River to Hatcher Pass where we felt
transported into a beautiful alpine world with many hiking trail options. Next day we were off to Talkeetna, only
2 hours from Cookie Jar, for a scheduled flight to view Mt. Denali and a landing on a nearby glacier. Our last day
included a lovely drive along the Matanuska River to Matanuska Glacier.
Cookie Jar Gardens B&B made our week in Alaska effortless and so enjoyable with all the nearby attractions and
TLC from Valerie in the retreat her rooms and beautiful gardens provide, and oh my, those fresh baked goodies
every day! ~Jim and Meg L., Boulder, CO
The welcoming hostess, sweet-natured
dog, beautiful gardens, cozy beds and
delicious breakfast made for a wonderful
stay! We especially appreciated the extra
touches: fresh cut flowers, bed-side
chocolates and homemade cookies and
muffins. As my daughter said before bed,
snuggling under the blanket, "It feels
more like home." Thank you Valerie and
Rudy for sharing your home with us!
~The Eggertsen Family, Ashland, OR
Everything was great. The
gardens were a delightful
surprise and you supplied
our every need. Breakfast
was too good. I shouldn't
have eaten so much.
Thanks so much.
